Healthcare
Audit and Compliance Professionals:
The 2005 Conference Committee has put together an outstanding program
to meet the educational needs of AHIA’s diverse healthcare
audience. As you have come to expect, the conference offers opportunities
for professional growth in healthcare internal, medical and compliance
auditing through the sharing of best practices and the tools used
by experienced practitioners.
This year’s
conference emphasizes the revenue cycle and adds sessions on information
technology topics. These were your suggestions in last year’s
conference evaluations - We heard you! Look for a track devoted
to the revenue cycle, as well as the Revenue Cycle 101 optional
session. Information technology sessions include Internal Audit’s
Role in Information System Implementations as an optional session
and conference workshops on Integrating IT into the Audit Shop,
CAAT’s, and continuous monitoring; several sessions also cover
CobIT. Also, checkout the sessions on control frameworks for information
you wanted on Sarbanes Oxley Section 404.
If you’re
new to healthcare or auditing, the Healthcare Auditor’s Toolkit
track is for you, as is the Revenue Cycle 101 optional session and
other basic level conference workshops. Several of the optional
sessions and workshops in the Emerging Issues and Compliance tracks
will appeal to experienced audit and compliance professionals.
Whatever your
current responsibilities and experience, you will fi nd sessions
to add knowledge and improve your skills. Choose sessions in the
track for your area of expertise or switch between tracks to learn
about something new. For example, if you’re not a medical
auditor, attend a workshop in the Clinical track; if you’ve
never done an IT audit, checkout what others are doing in the IT-related
sessions.
AHIA’s
2005 Conference also will be the place for developing new ideas,
personal skills and resources. The two general sessions will give
us insight into the future of healthcare, and into increasing our
productivity and job satisfaction. Several events will facilitate
building your network of peers and investigating the products and
services that support our success.
The 2005 Conference
Committee has delivered the educational opportunities; these are
your notes. Compose your music (i.e., register and select your sessions)
and
GET IN TUNE!
And, very importantly, we want you to have fun and enjoy Nashville.
